Programs and Services
Through collaborations and partnerships, we provide culturally competent services including adult education programs, youth development, and cultural events as well as information and referrals to public and other community organizations. The services that we provide are as follows:
ESOL Classes - We provide students with basic English reading and writing skills and resume tips. A placement test is required to determine the level of each student. SHUP runs 3 sessions per year.
Computer Literacy Classes - this class gives students the opportunity to learn basic computer skills.
Community Strengthening Program (CSP) - An after school program with the main goal to provide a safe haven to decrease instances of risky behavior, while improving family relations, sense of self worth, civic and community involvement among the youth and their families. This awareness and education program is in collaboration with Haitian American Responsible Teen program or HART program based out the Boston Medical Center. This collaboration aims to address 3 main goals:
Translation and Interpretation Services - If we cannot provide these services ourselves we may be able to refer to a service (not responsible for the cost any outside referrals charge).
Referrals - Any other needs we will try to arrange people with the right services.
